At KitchenCatalog (developed by Sora Studios), your privacy is our core foundation. We believe that what you buy, eat, and store in your kitchen should belong exclusively to you. We do not require accounts, we do not track your behavior, and we do not sell your personal data.

1. Information We Collect

We do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII). You do not need to provide an email address, name, phone number, or password to use KitchenCatalog.

2. Photos & Ephemeral AI Extraction

When you scan a food product with the camera, the photos are transmitted securely over encrypted HTTPS directly to Google Gemini AI strictly for optical packaging metadata extraction (e.g., product title, brand name, and printed expiration dates). Photos are processed ephemerally in volatile memory and are never stored on any server or used to train public AI models.

3. Spoken Voice Notes

Optional spoken voice notes provide quick context (e.g., "put this in the freezer drawer"). Audio recordings are encoded temporarily for analysis and deleted from your device immediately after text parsing. Audio is never stored or archived on external servers.

4. 100% On-Device Inventory Storage

Your full inventory list, storage locations, expiration dates, and consumed history are stored locally on your device in a private SQLite database. This data never leaves your iPhone unless you manually choose to export a JSON backup via iOS Share Sheet.

5. Push Notifications

KitchenCatalog uses iOS local notifications (scheduled on-device) to remind you of expiring items at 9:00 AM. Because reminders are scheduled locally, your inventory information is never sent to a push notification server.

6. In-App Subscriptions & Payments

All subscription payments (KitchenCatalog Pro) are processed by Apple through StoreKit and verified via RevenueCat. We never have access to your credit card number, billing address, or Apple ID credentials.

7. Data Deletion

Because all inventory records reside locally on your device, deleting the KitchenCatalog app immediately and permanently erases all stored inventory data.
